Frozen: Conceal, Don't Feel: A Twisted Tale by Jen Calonita

By Cloe G., Glen Burnie High School

What if the story of the hit movie Frozen was not the same? This story is about if Anna and Elsa never knew each other. It shows Elsa as her queen self, but she is an only child. While Anna is living among the townspeople of Arendale. It shows both girls' perspectives and how they intertwine at some point. Elsa is trying to lift a curse that was put on her, and someone she can’t quite remember. Then Anna is trying to find her past and how she became who she is today. There are multiple twisted Disney stories, they are a part of the Twisted Tales series that gives the original movie a new perspective. I like these books because many authors come together to write these books, all of them are written by different people. This shows their different writing styles and how they want the story to go.

As I was reading this novel, I was so excited when I started a new chapter because of the point of view changed. One chapter would be Elsa’s point of view, but then the next would be Anna’s. And then, you would expect to go back to one of their perspectives, and then the author would take a complete u-turn and go to a whole different character. The story was so complex and you had no idea what would happen on the next pages. This kept me on the edge of my seat and made me want to read more. I would rate this book a four out of 5 stars, a go to read.
