Ms. Thorson was the owner of Annapolis Word Works from 1982 to 2000 and is currently a Notary Public.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from College of Notre Dame of Maryland in 1966. She completed Post Graduate Work in Fine Arts through Catholic University of America in 1966-1967.
Ms. Thorson served on the Finance Committee and as an academic advisor for The Bacone College Board, where she assisted with updating and expanding the art program and moving the school to a four year school from a two year school. She is involved with many community activities including: the Murray Hill Residents Association, Historic Annapolis Foundation, Chase Lloyd Home Auxiliary, the Anne Arundel County Historical Society, Annapolis Civitan, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution - Honorary State Regent of Maryland, and current serves as 1st Vice President of the National Chairman’s Association. Ms. Thorson also has extensive board experience as past President of the Board of Trustees of The Rising Sun Inn and a member of the House Committee for Mt. Clare Museum House.
