Beginning September 27, the West County Area Library will be open on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. These branches will retain Sunday hours through May 23, 2010.

Babies in Bloom

It’s never too early to come to the library!
Parents and caregivers are invited to bring their babies (up to two years) for a fun-filled half-hour of stories, songs, rhymes and fingerplays all specifically designed to stimulate early infant development.
Tot’s Line, a lively and informative discussion of issues and concerns related to caring for newborn to five year-olds follows all programs marked with an asterisk (*). Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Teen Workshop: “Songwriting 101: Learn to Release Your Inner Poet”

Tuesday, June 1 at 10 a.m.

Singer-songwriter Sue Trainor will host a 90-minute workshop packed with exercises, demonstrations and performances designed to release your inner poet. A dynamic performer with a gift for stirring up creativity, Trainor is a member of the nationally touring vocal trio “Hot Soup,” as well as a Wolf Trap teaching artist. Seating is limited, and advanced registration is recommended. Please call the branch to register.

Job Search Specialists 

 Job Search Specialists from the Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation under SCSEP (Senior Community Service Employment Program) are available to assist patrons with job searches, completing job applications and resume writing as well as to provide information about Workforce Development services.

Microsoft Word II Beyond the Basics

Go beyond the basics of Word. Includes letters and mailings, headers and footers, inserting text and pictures and some advance formatting features of Microsoft Word 2003. Bring a diskette or USB drive to save your work.
Prerequisite:  Word I or One-on-One computer training.
Saturday, June 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. Registration begins May 22.
