Whole Foods Market Honors Library Foundation

On February 15, the Whole Foods Market in Annapolis Towne Centre donated 5 percent of their total sales for the day to the Library Foundation. Four times a year, the Annapolis Whole Foods chooses an area nonprofit organization to be the recipient of a single day’s receipts from that store. The Library Foundation received over $6,500 from the event.

AACPL’s Marketing and Communications Manager Christine Feldmann, with Outreach Librarian Kt Zawodny, developed an all-day program with library staff who led an in-store storytime for Whole Foods shoppers, staffed tables where people could sign up for a library card and even check out a book, see craft demonstrations and learn about upcoming library programs. Library staff who supported the event included Brandi Delly, Julie Fredriksson, Pam Hadaway, Jeb Hall, Gloria Harberts, Lara Jeffries, Sarah Kachevas, Carol Lerian, Laura Lieberman, Angela Nambier, Stephanie Petruso and Stacy Randall. The day was a unique opportunity for the library to bring its programs and services to the public while also receiving a generous corporate gift for the library.
