Downloadable Audiobooks

  • What are they?  Digital versions of popular fiction and non-fiction and Pimsleur languages that you can download and listen to on your computer or portable listening device. 
  • Some but not all titles are compatible with the iPod.  This is due to licensing issues.
  • Audiobooks can only be downloaded at home, not in the library.
  • The library has downloadable audiobooks from NetLibraryRecorded Books & OverDrive.

NetLibrary Recorded Books
Popular fiction and non-fiction, Pimsleur foreign language tapes and the Bible.

  • Register for a NetLibrary account in a library branch using this link to be able to access NetLibrary materials remotely.
  • Register for a NetLibrary account from home using this link to be able to access NetLibrary materials remotely.
  • Use this link for NetLibrary remote access .

  • What formats are available?
  • WMA (Windows Media Audio) & MP3.  Only the MP3 titles are compatible with the iPod and iPhone.
  • New!Media Center from NetLibrary Recorded Books is available for a one-time download and allows simple management of your downloaded titles.  More information is at: FAQ-eAudiobooks 
  • iPod compatible titles – are in MP3 format.  See Details of a title to view this.
  • Click on Basic Search & select MP3 Format to search for iPod compatible titles. 
  • Checkout period is 3 weeks.
  • Ten titles at a time maximum; materials cannot be returned early due to the way the downloading process works.   Titles can be renewed once.
  • No fines.


OverDrive Audiobooks

  • Content:  Popular fiction and non-fiction – for adults, young adults & children.

What formats are available?

  • WMA (Windows Media Audio) & MP3.  Only the MP3 titles are compatible with the iPod and iPhone.
  • A list of iPod compatible titles is on the OverDrive site.
  • OverDrive Media Console and Windows Media Player software are required to download any audiobooks.  This software is available for download on the OverDrive site.
  • Checkout period is 2 weeks for audiobooks, 2 weeks for eBooks and 1 week for video.
  • A combination of 4 – OverDrive eBooks, OverDrive audiobooks and OverDrive downloadable video total can be checked out at a time from OverDrive.  Only the OverDrive eBooks can be returned early.
  • Holds can be placed on materials checked out by other patrons.
  • No fines.
