Marina is a single catalog that brings together
the resources of Maryland's public libraries. With Marina, you'll have the option to search, create
requests or inquire about your requests from public libraries other than AACPL.
|
If the item is not
owned by a Maryland public library, it can potentially be requested
through a nation-wide collaborative lending system (OCLC). Only
print material can be requested through this system. We call
this an Interlibrary Loan Request, and we must complete an Interlibrary
Loan Request card to proceed with this request. If the lending
library charges a fee, the person requesting the item will be asked
to pay that fee; library staff will clarify what the borrower is
willing to pay when completing the request. You may ask information
staff at any library to help, or ask for assistance through the Ask
A Librarian service.

 |
- Materials owned by Anne Arundel County Public
Library (AACPL). If an item is owned by AACPL, please place a
request in our catalog.
- Any books that have not yet been published,
reference materials, on order materials, materials that don't
show "available",
and items from Harford Community College (HCC) and McDaniel College
(Hoover Library).
- Entire magazine issues. If there is a specific
article you are interested in, ask the AACPL Information Desk
Staff at any branch or through the
Ask A Librarian service.
- For information on requesting CD's, audiocassettes
and videos ask the AACPL Information Desk Staff at any branch or
through the
Ask A Librarian service. These materials are
loaned by only a few public libraries in the state - this significantly
limits the possibility of borrowing them from outside AACPL.
Note: Baltimore County Public Library
(BCPL) material cannot be requested using MARINA; their material
does not display in a MARINA search. We request those materials
using the wider collaborative lending system (OCLC). BCPL and academic
libraries connected with the University Of Maryland system do not
charge a fee when they lend material.
