AACPL Hosts Special Events to Celebrate the Winter Holidays

(December 5, 2023 –Annapolis, MD) Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) is offering the following holiday programs throughout December.

The Gift of Reading at Discoveries

Discoveries: the Library at the Mall from Now through Friday, December 9

Readers of all ages can sign up to receive a selection of surprise, gift-wrapped library books to borrow and enjoy. Unwrap one a day, or all at once!

Festive Cookies and Cookie Bars

Online event on Wednesday, December 6 at 6 pm

Learn new cookie recipes, discover how to make cookie bars with layers of delicious ingredients, and become inspired for your holiday baking. Along the way, you will pick up practical tips, creative ideas and baking advice. Register for login information.

Pajama Storytime

Discoveries: The Library at the Mall on Wednesday, December 6 at 6:30 pm

Meet us at the Westfield Christmas Tree Farm near California Pizza Kitchen for a magical Pajama Storytime! Bring your slippers and your stuffed animals for songs, stories and some fun.

Holiday Songs from Around the World

Glen Burnie Library on Saturday, December 9 at 2 pm

Spend time with your family this holiday season and enjoy live and recorded music from many different countries, as we discover the sights and sounds of holiday celebrations from around the world!

Craft for a Cause: Cards for the Homebound

Odenton Library on Monday, December 11 at 6 pm

Get ready to be creative and serve your community at the same time as we make homemade seasonal greeting cards that will be sent to AACPL's homebound Library by Mail customers. High school students may earn service hours.

Cookie Mix in a Jar Making

Deale Library on Tuesday, December 12 at 6:30 pm

Join us as we fill jars with cookie mix and decorate them in festive ribbon and fabric. Give as a gift or keep for yourself!

Annapolis Blend Chorus Holiday Concert

The Annapolis Blend Chorus presents a holiday concert for adults, teens and children.

Winter Solstice Celebration

Odenton Library on Saturday, December 16 at 11 am

Celebrate the longest night of the year and the holiday giving season with us. Preschoolers and kids will learn about the winter solstice and how it is celebrated around the world and make a winter craft to take home or give as a gift.

Everyone Eats Cookbook Club 5th Annual Cookie Exchange

Busch Annapolis Library on Saturday, December 16 at 12:30 pm

Choose a cookie recipe from any cookbook in the library collection to bake at home. Bring the cookbook and four dozen cookies to exchange at the meeting.

Kid Crafternoon: Holiday Cards and Gifts

Celebrate the winter holidays by making cards and crafts for family and friends.

First Day of Winter Storytime

Kwanzaa Tales

In her interactive performance, TAHIRA shares the seven principles (Nguzo Saba) of Kwanzaa through storytelling and music.
