100 Years of Service at Fort Meade

This spring the Library will be hosting two events to recognize 100 years of service at Fort Meade (originally Camp Meade). On Saturday, March 25th at 2 pm, join us at the Severn Community Library to learn about the doughboys, tanks, POWs and intelligence professionals who make up the story of this national treasure. On Saturday, April 8 at 2 pm at the Odenton Regional Library you can learn more about World War I's direct impact on our region and the creation of Camp Meade.

Check out our Fort Meade History Resource List for several digital and print resources that you can use to explore more information. Interested in more Camp Meade/Fort Meade historic postcards? Find the entire Anne Arundel County Public Library collection on Digital Maryland.

Worked on post for many years; familiar with old barracks/buildings. Loved seeing old buildings when they were new "back then", also the soldiers and old vehicles.

Stay tuned! We'll have more historic postcards ready for viewing very soon, including a number more from Came/Fort Meade. They are being digitized now!
