Ms. Deirdre Anne Hendrick (she/her, they/them)
Deirdre Anne Hendrick lives in Cape St. Claire with their family and represents District 5 (Broadneck Peninsula).
She is a certified information systems auditor at US Army Cyber Command at Ft. Meade, Maryland. They are also a Judge Advocate General’s Corps officer in the US Army Reserve, currently assigned to the US Army Trial Defense Service and focused on representing transgender military members. She has served in the Army now for 29 years with assignments including: Bamberg, Germany; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (for the Gulf War) and Mosul, Iraq (for Operation Iraqi Freedom). For 18 of those years they were an enlisted engineer.
She has previously served on the board of Birthwise Midwifery School in Bridgton, Maine and as an elected director on the board of Maine School Administrative District 55 in Hiram, Maine.
They have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver College of Law. She also has a graduate certificate from the Naval Postgraduate School (Cost Management) and two from National Defense University (Chief Information Systems Officer and Chief Financial Officer).
They have been admitted to the practice of law for over twenty years in Maine, New Hampshire (inactive), and several federal jurisdictions. In 2019, she was granted a certificate of limited practice by the Court of Appeals of Maryland to serve as a pro bono panel attorney for FreeState Justice, a Baltimore based LGBTQ+ civil rights organization. In addition to being a certified information systems auditor, they hold certifications as a Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional, a Certified Defense Financial Manager, a DoD Digital Forensic Examiner, and multiple national security systems certifications.
