Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson deliver some of their finest performances as two lighthouse keepers trying to maintain their sanity while living on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s. Jarin Blaschke was nominated for an Oscar for his stunning black-and-white cinematography in a film that has kept many viewers still discussing it since it was released. 

Rated R for sexual content, nudity, violence, disturbing images, and some language, 109 min.
