Seeking Justice, a Living History Performance of Frederick Douglass

Maryland’s own Frederick Douglass will come back from the past to tell the story of his escape from slavery and his work for equal rights for African Americans. Audience members will have a chance to ask Frederick Douglass questions about his amazing life as an abolitionist, author, orator, and statesman.

Frederick Douglass, a writer, orator and abolitionist, was one of the most important African-American activists of the nineteenth century. He will be portrayed by Bill Grimmette, a living history interpreter, storyteller, actor, and motivational speaker.
