The Memory Lab
The lab provides equipment for digitizing home movies, phonograph records, and scanning photographs, negatives, and slides.
How It Works
- Schedule a one-on-one appointment with a librarian. We’ll train you on the equipment of your choice. You’ll sign a release form, receive a certificate, and be authorized to use that equipment on your own.
- Schedule your work session. You may book a piece of equipment for 2 hours at a time. Arrive for your work session and check-in at the adult information desk. We'll set up the equipment for you and you'll work on your project independently.
Melvil Dewey, creator of the Dewey Decimal System, will select one call-number to post on his bulletin board in the children's area each week. Find books with that number on the spine, discover what the books are about, and tell the librarian for a small prize!
This library offers computers free for public use. Customers can sign up for one hour of computer time with their library card number. It may be possible to extend time if others are not waiting.
All public library computers offer Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
Software and documents can be temporarily saved on computers and will be erased when the customer logs off.
