First Public Meeting on New Riviera Beach Library

The first public meeting for the new library was held Tuesday evening, December 12, 2017. Anne Arundel County Public Library CEO Hampton “Skip” Auld introduced the project team. Architects from Grimm and Parker presented an overview of the project and invited ideas and aspirations for the new library from the attendees.

The presentation slides are here. The renderings are from other libraries built by Grimm and Parker and are presented to inspire possibilities and aspirations for the new library. The renderings do not represent actual design intentions for the new library.

This meeting was the first step of a thoughtful, in-depth process to understand the needs and requirements for the new library. The process will produce the architectural program, which is the detailed listing of the rooms and spaces in the new library. The architectural program is the basis for the detailed design of the library.

Future meetings and opportunities for community input will be scheduled as the project progresses.
