Anne Arundel County Public Library Hosts Events to Celebrate the Holidays 

(December 5, 2024 – Annapolis, MD) Anne Arundel County Public Library is offering the following events to celebrate the holiday season: 

Train Garden Storytime 

Thursday, December 19 at 10 am 

Join us at the train garden at Marley Station Mall (upstairs by Macy's) for a train-themed storytime!   

Noon Year's Eve 

Busch Annapolis, Brooklyn Park, Discoveries, Odenton and Severna Park Libraries:  

Tuesday, December 31 at 11:30 am 

Help us ring in the New Year 2025 with crafts and music! A countdown and celebration will occur right before noon. 

 

Lunar New Year Celebrations 

Crofton Library: Saturday, January 25 at 2 pm 

Brooklyn Park Library: Saturday, February 1 at 2 pm 

Celebrate the Lunar New Year with crafts and a special activity at Crofton and listen to a story about the holiday and watch the Wulin Institute perform the Lion Dance at Brooklyn Park! 

Broadneck 

Winter Solstice Storytime 

Saturday, December 21 at 10:30 am 

Join us for a fun and warm preschool storytime about all things wintery and cold! 

 

Busch Annapolis Library 

Everyone Eats Cookbook Club 6th Annual Cookie Exchange 

Saturday, December 14 at 12:30 pm 

Choose a cookie recipe from any cookbook in the library collection or a family favorite to bake at home with someone. Bring the friend, the cookbook and four dozen cookies to exchange at the meeting. 

 

Holiday Concert with The Annapolis Blend

Join us for a holiday concert with The Annapolis Blend chorus.

1000 Books Ball! Noon Year's Eve

Nutcracker Storytime & Preview 

Saturday, December 8 at 2 pm 
Join us for the story of the Nutcracker and a preview of the ballet by The Chesapeake Ballet Company. 
 
ALL-iday Family Potluck 

Tuesday, December 17 at 6 pm 
Bring a homemade or store-bought Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or Christmas dish that has cultural or familial significance to share for a potluck celebration! 
 

Teen Gift Making Crafternoon 

Monday, December 23 at 2 pm 
Stop by the library to make some hand-crafted holiday gifts! We’ll provide supplies and instructions. 

Kwanzaa Tales 

Saturday, December 28 at 10:30 am 
In her interactive performance for preschoolers and kids, TAHIRA shares the seven principles (Nguzo Saba) of Kwanzaa through storytelling and music.  

Lunar New Year Storytime 

Friday, January 24 at 10:30 am 
It's the Year of the Snake! Preschoolers will celebrate the Lunar New Year with a story, craft and songs. Traditional clothing is encouraged.  

 

Edgewater Library 

Hot Chocolate Chat & Chill 

Thursday, December 12 at 6 pm 
Stir up a cup of hot chocolate and add a variety of mix-ins to make it unique! Teens can chat with friends, enjoy a winter movie and complete a craft while they sip.

Make some crafts, relax with hot cocoa, have a few laughs and make some new friends.

Kids and teens will learn about the winter solstice and make a craft to keep or give as a gift.  

Season's Greetings Potluck & Open Mic 

Monday, December 16 at 4:30 pm 
Bring a homemade or store-bought dish that is important to your family's cultural or holiday traditions to share with our community. While eating, sit back and enjoy the show, or perform in our open mic event. 

Severna Park Library 

Movies at the Library: Home Alone  
Saturday, December 14 at 2 pm 
Make a wish and sled on over for a yuletide screening of Home Alone (1990, PG).
