The Memory Lab at Odenton Library

The Memory Lab at Odenton Library: Preserve Your Memories. Image of old photos and negatives.Do you have boxes of old photographs, slides, family videos, or even records that you’ve been meaning to digitize? Old media can deteriorate quickly, so the time is now. However, purchasing the needed equipment and learning how to use it can be expensive and time-consuming. The new Memory Lab at Odenton Library is free to use and here to help. This lab, made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) allows you to use library equipment to preserve your treasured memories. The lab offers equipment to digitize:

  • VHS cassettes
  • Photos
  • Slides
  • Negatives
  • Phonograph records

To use the lab, schedule an appointment with a librarian. They’ll train you on how to use the equipment of your choice. Once trained, you can book a piece of equipment for two hours at a time. Learn more about the Odenton Library’s Memory Lab here
