You can learn a new language with resources from AACPL, and all you need is your library card. Anne Arundel County Public Library now offers free access to Mango Languages, in addition to Rosetta Stone.
Follow this link for instructions on using this resource and choose from over 70 languages! Everything from Spanish, German, and Arabic -- to Shakespearean English, Hawaiian, and Pirate!
Mango offers a different style of teaching that uses real-life situations and actual conversations to help you more effectively learn a new language.
- Learn through watching films in a foreign language.
- Select lessons that are situation specific. For example, if you're taking a culinary tour of France, you may want a French lesson that relates to wine and cheese.
- By listening to and repeating material designed from native conversations, you'll not only learn the individual words and phrases, you'll know how they're used in practical situations and conversations.
You can access this resource online or through mobile apps available for Android and iOS devices. Mango Languages is provided by Sailor, a service of the Maryland Public Library Community.
