Before the Bridgertons came the love story that changed the ton...

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn and television pioneer Shonda Rhimes comes a powerful and romantic novel of Bridgerton's Queen Charlotte and King George III's great love story and how it sparked a societal shift, inspired by the original series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, created by Shondaland for Netflix. Read the full press release.

Join us Saturday, May 13 at the Michael E Busch Annapolis Library 6-8pm to hear from Julia Quinn on her newest novel, Queen Charlotte. A thrilling collaboration between Shonda—whose cinematic style of storytelling imbues the narrative with a vibrant energy—and Julia’s intimate, emotionally resonant wordsmithing. And while inspired by the show, Queen Charlotte the book is a fully realized novel that goes beyond the storyline of the series. The project excitingly gives folks a chance to not only dive deep into the characters heads, but to revel in the early romance between Princess Charlotte and King George III.

Julia will be in conversation with Nikki Payne. By day, Nikki is a curious Dr. of Anthropology in Big Tech. By night, she dreams of ways to subvert canon literature. Featured in People Magazine, Buzzfeed BooksBustle and Oprah Daily, and named one of the "Most Anticipated Romances of 2022" by BookBub, her debut novel, Pride and Protest was a 2022 Phenomenal Book Club pick and has been hailed "incandescent" by the Washington Post.

This event is in presented in partnership with Park Books and is a fundraiser for the Anne Arundel County Public Library Foundation.
