Allies was a very entertaining and enjoyable book to read. The book is set in World War Two as the book mentions two main characters. One is an underage private in the United States Army who is seeking revenge on the Nazis who arrested his uncle when he was a little boy. The other is a eleven-year old French- Algerian girl who travels to find the French resistance to deliver a message that an upcoming invasion is about to happening. She also needs help in freeing her mother.
This book is action packed full of adventure as these two fight to stay alive. Some things I liked about the book is it puts you into the shoes of a person living during World War Two and the struggles and obstacles they had to overcome. The author also includes at the end of the book the casualties of the largest seaborne invasion in history. There are some sad parts of the book but some very heartwarming ones as well. This a very good book to read and would 100% read this again. I would recommend this book to middle schoolers and for people who are interested in World War Two.
