In this page-turner, we follow a young girl on her journey to uncover why her biological father is stuck paying for a crime he never committed.
It all begins on Zoe’s twelfth birthday when she receives a letter from her biological dad (whom she never knew). Although her mother doesn’t want Zoe to know her father, curiosity gets the best of her and she sends a letter back. This begins a chain of letters between Zoe and her father, Marcus. From these letters, Zoe finds out that her father is facing the consequences from somebody else’s actions. She decides that she is the only one who can save him and begins her voyage on discovering the truth.
In this heartwarming read, you will find yourself laughing, crying and everything in between. The main character, Zoe, was inspiring to me because of her determination while facing hardships and her perseverance throughout the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries and realistic fiction. I think anyone from age 9 and up would enjoy this book, I know I did. I really liked the descriptive language that was used. I also liked the character development. This book won’t leave you disappointed!
