Impostors by Scott Westerfeld

Impostors is a fast-paced, sci-fi book by Scott Westerfeld. This book follows a pair of twins, Rafia and Frey. Rafia has been taught to become the epitome of an ideal daughter - well-spoken, charismatic, and always impeccably dressed. Frey, on the other hand, has been trained to serve as an expert body double, equipped with the abilities to improvise weapons, successfully make a daring escape, and adequately imitate her counterpart.

When another city-state wants to secure an alliance, Frey is sent in Rafia's place as collateral. There she meets Col, an awkward boy who becomes one of her closest allies. Together, they are on the run from the rebels, Frey's father, and Col's own family. Meanwhile, Rafia believes that her sister is dead, and starts being uncooperative with her father, trying to bring his scandals and heartlessness to light.

Technology like spy dust and plasma cannons plays a role in this futuristic sci-fi novel. The characters are realistically flawed and act the way real people would. The author has done an exceptional job of keeping the readers hooked with a thrilling plot, unexpected turns, and a touch of romance. I would suggest this book to anyone who loves science fiction or mysteries. It's an absolute must-read!
