Sleepless Volume 2 is the second book in Sarah Vaughn’s two-book series Sleepless. I read both books pretty spaced out due to not being able to find the second book, but I can say very confidently that the anticipation, the wait, and the effort I put into finding the second book was worth it.

The book follows the main character, Lady “Poppy” Pyppenia as she continues to navigate through the same struggles from the first book (sorrow, grief, and romance) with the addition of pressure for her to marry a Lord. Previously by her side, there was Sleepless Knight Sir Cyrenic. Though in the second book Cyrenic has to navigate a life after being released from the Sleepless Vow.

The book is such a good follow up story. It really ties up everything that happened in the previous book, giving a satisfying ending. I really enjoyed the book. The graphic novel's illustrations maintain a sense of authenticity and relatability for the characters, with Lady Pyppenia's dark complexion and diverse appearances around her. The varied representation ensures a satisfying portrayal, avoiding uniformity among the characters. As a dark skinned woman, seeing Poppy being the main character feels very affirming. In a general sense, this is a book anyone can enjoy. I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys graphic novels— it’s great!
