Affordable Connectivity Program

FCC Affordable Connectivity Program Helping Households Connect

The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more.

The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.

Marylanders Online aims to bring digital inclusion to Maryland by providing quality resources and education to help improve digital literacy.  The website features a Get Help page that provides instructional materials for self-guided learners, a Give Help page for educators or those who want to make a difference in their community by sharing their knowledge, and a Get Connected page that provides information and resources to help Marylanders stay connected to the digital world (including connectivity programs and WiFi locations).  A hotline is also available for free one-on-one te

The UME Digital Literacy Project team in collaboration with UMD College of Information Studies teamed up to help improve residents’ digital literacy. This resource provides information via the website on affordable access to digital devices and broadband. It increases the relevance of digital tools and adoption of broadband by connecting and incorporating digital literacy into programs such as education, healthcare, workforce development, extension programs, and other relevant services; and provides customized technical support.
