Community Partners

Maryland City at Russett Library Caring Cupboard

In partnership with Caring Cupboard, we have a Little Free Pantry! The mission of the Caring Cupboard program is to try to ensure that no citizen, and especially children, in Anne Arundel County suffers from food insecurity or hygiene issues of      any kind and for any reason through providing food and basic necessities. We are proud to host a Caring Cupboard and we welcome community members to take what they need and donate what they can. If you drive towards the Russett Community pool past our building, it is on the left in the grassy median on our property.

Patrons planting

We recently partnered with the Watershed Stewards Academy and Girl Scout troops 8476 and 476 to install a demonstration Conservation Landscape garden at the branch.  Over 120 native plants including Chokeberry bushes, Milkweed,  Black Eyed Susans and Asters were planted on a beautiful fall Saturday.  Stay tuned for programs about watershed protection, pollinator education and maybe even a Chokeberry jam making event using berries from our new plants!
